homescabinsHiking Along Aska? – Stop in at The Iron Bridge Cafe – Blue Ridge
If you have never been down the beautiful Aska Road in Blue Ridge, you are in for a treat. This area is known for not only beauty but so many outdoor activities including hiking, fishing or river rafting. The Iron Bridge Cafe and General Store is one of the few eateries in this area. It is located directly across the street from the Old Shallowford Bridge that was built in 1918.
Located on the Toccoa River, this quaint cafe is absolutely adorable and delicious. Specializing in breakfast and lunch, this is a great place to stop for friendly service by owners Mary and Angie and to get a wonderful meal to cure those hunger pains after all that outdoor activity! The Lily Pad Village is also located a short distance from the cafe. After the family has enjoyed a round of mini golf, bring them here for a great lunch.
How About A Little “Taste of Amish” – Blue Ridge
I don’t know about you but I absolutely love to be able to go into stores where I can find different types of foods and not the same “run of the mill” you find at the regular grocery stores. Taste of Amish is an adorable country store located in beautiful Blue Ridge. It is full of delicious healthy foods such as organic meats, fresh produce, gluten free products, jams and jellies, baking goods, candy, homemade remedies, soaps and much more.
Owners, Bill and Peggy Rush have made Fannin County their home for over 25 years. You will find them in the store on a regular basis smiling with customers, running the cash register, stocking shelves or whatever else needs to be done. They are open Monday through Saturday from 9 to 5 and closed on Sundays.
Get Your Cowboy Hat Ready!!! – Towns County Rodeo – This Weekend!!!
What a beautiful weekend to come out and enjoy some good ole fashioned family fun! Towns County will be hosting their 3rd annual FFA Rodeo this Friday and Saturday night. If you have been looking for a good excuse to come to the mountains, this is it. Grab your cowboy hat, boots and bring the family to enjoy this great event.
Rodeos are always fun but this time of year, it is not too hot! At 7pm each evening there will be singing entertainment presented by Steven Phillips and Midnight Express. There will also be children’s events including a bounce house and a mechanical bull. I had the most fun watching my kids try to stay on the bull! What a blast they had as well! There will be multiple vendors, food and tons more fun as well.
Get your tickets in advance at the Towns County Chamber of Commerce for $10. At the door, they will be $12. The event will be held at the field across from the new Blue Ridge EMC in Young Harris, near Brasstown Valley Resort. Make it a full weekend and come stay at this beautiful resort. In fact, look at this living social deal for Brasstown Valley. Enjoy your visit!!
Pre-Inspection Reports Help Georgia Mountain Listings Stand Out
If you are readying your home for sale this spring or summer, one of my favorite tactics to set your property apart from other North Georgia Mountain listings is to order a pre-inspection. If you’re not familiar with the term, a pre-inspection is a less detailed, less expensive visual inspection designed to report major conditions certain to be noted in the final. Why add this extra expense? Won’t buyers ultimately get their own inspection?
Yes, they will. But the purpose is not to replace a final inspection — it’s to attract more offers and hasten a final sale by minimizing re-negotiation.
Picture yourself as a prospective buyer. Blairsville Georgia listings which headline the availability of a pre-inspection report automatically seem to be offered by someone who is proud of their property’s condition and unafraid of what the final inspection will reveal.
