Whether you are a resident, vacationing in the mountains or taking a drive for the day, there is something fun and patriotic for your family to do to celebrate the good ole’ USA’s birthday!
Blairsville
9:30 pm, Meeks Park (1/4 mile west of Blairsville off 515) Come to one of the most beautiful parks in North Georgia and see FIREWORKS!! Sponsored by the- Union County Chamber of Commerce. For more info, please call 706-745-5189.
LAKE NOTTELLY BOAT PARADE – this is for the boating enthusiasts! Decorate your boat however you would like…be super creative and have fun with it! Line up your “baby” no later than 11:00 am at the marina. Prizes will be awarded. For all spectators, this should be a fun event to watch. The best news is there is NO CHARGE to enter.
Blue Ridge
Blue Ridge Depot – Do you love fireworks but not the crowd? Come ride the TRAIN that will be departing at 7:30pm and heading to McCaysville! You will ride along the Toccoa River and then watch FIREWORKS as they are shot off of tater hill. For more information, please call 1-800-934-1898. Make your reservations because this will go fast!
Ellijay
Cartecay Vineyards – Come enjoy live music by April Cummings and sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery while sipping wine out of the Cartecay Vineyards wine glass that you will receive. $13 includes all of the above. Please call 706-698-9463 for more information.
Hiawassee
Annual 4th of July BOAT parade on Lake Chatuge!! Are you creative, love your boat and proud to live in the USA! This event is for you…prize will be awarded to the most decorated and spirited. An American flag must be flown. Line up at by 10 and it will begin at 11. The parade with end with an old fashioned hot dog cookout. This should be a truly fun and patriotic time.
As you can see, there is plenty for a family to enjoy in the mountains. Happy July 4th to everyone!
