homescabinsCohutta’s – A True Blue Ridge Country Store!
Do you need to find a good provider of feed for your horses or various other livestock? What about high quality dog or other pet food? These are just a few of the available items at Blue Ridge’s Cohutta Country Store.
Owners Jim and Laurie McClearen opened Cohutta Country Store in November of 2006. Their hopes were to share their love for horses, livestock and farming with their community. Jim is a practicing veterinarian and for 32 years he owned the Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital in Acworth, Georgia. At this practice, he not only treated dogs and cats, but also rabbits, exotic birds, horses, pigs, goats, cattle and various other livestock. Laurie has been involved with horses most of her life. Needless to say, they come with years of knowledge and know the types of nutrition and supplies that are best for your animal.
However, animal supplies are not all this adorable country type setting store has to offer. I wish I had known about their vast array of western wear they sold before I attended the Kiwanis sponsored rodeo a few weeks ago! They also have a new children’s section where you can get your kids all dolled up in western gear as well. Wrangler, Carhartt and Levi’s are among some of the quality brands they carry.
If you love to decorate in western type style or know a friend or family member that does, this is a great place to purchase these types of items and gifts to spruce up the home in a fabulous western flavor.
Cohutta also believes in community involvement and their hopes are you will come shop here and spend the day while enjoying eating at Pete’s Place and then playing a game of Putt Putt at the new Cohutta mini golf. All of this and more is located in the same shopping complex.
Don’t forget when you leave the store to purchase some of their fabulous home made fudge! Get feed for the animals, a cool new pair of boots, some gifts for friends and then fudge for yourself. Sounds like a win-win to me!!
