Casual, Fun & Delicious! – Whistle Stop Grill – Blue Ridge
Casual, fun and delicious definitely describes my favorite type of restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice to dress up and go out too. However, for a place you may want to frequent often, it’s nice to feel completely relaxed and have a great time while hanging out and eating with your friends.
Whistle Stop is conveniently located on the lower level in downtown Blue Ridge, next to Hucks’ Gem Mining on the trackside near the train. What I personally enjoy so much about this establishment is that there is fun to be had on a regular basis at Whistle Stop! They have karaoke, trivia, live music at various times and days of the week. They will have sports playing on tv all the time! I’m one of those females that like to watch some sports so it’s good with me! My family wanted to eat out one evening but didn’t want to miss an important football game, therefore, the choice was Whistle Stop because we knew the game would be playing! The environment can be loud so you need to visit when you aren’t looking for total peace and quiet! Not that I get that often anyway with two kids in the house!
The food at this restaurant is great as well. The plates are quite large, including the children’s plates. My kids raved about the huge onion rings. I think I ate the best Salmon there that I have eaten in a while. Not to mention the totally yummy fried pickles and kettle chips! What a great place to visit after enjoying a ride on the downtown train in Blue Ridge. You don’t even have to hop back in the car. After you are finished, make it a full day and take the kids for a game of putt putt and gem mining next door. Hope you enjoy your dinner and visit at another great North Georgia Mountain restaurant!
