Ellijay’s Cartecay Vineyards – Falls’ Grape Harvest Festival – October 6th

Perhaps you are a wine connoisseur or possibly have just always wondered how wine was really made?  You should come out to Ellijay, Georgia’s Cartecay Vineyards on October 6^th for the annual Grape Harvest Festival  also known as a crush festival.   What is a crush festival you ask?? They celebrate the Fall Harvest by a very exciting event at the festival where all guests are asked to take off their shoes and walk in a tub of Cartecay Vineyards’ best grapes and stomp away!  I remember seeing this being done on an “I Love Lucy” show as a child and telling my mom, “I want to do that!”  Well, now is my chance!

Cartecay Vineyards is located in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains where the Southern Appalachians are ideal for growing wine grapes.  At this festival you will see the beautiful 13 acres where the grapes are grown and also have a blast grape stomping, listening to live music by Barefoot Boone and Bobby Mountain, taking a free art class for making wine glass charms, having 7 samples of wine and being able to see a variety of food and art vendors on site. The cost for this fun event is $25 and children 12 and under are free.  Don’t you just want your kids to stay 12 and under forever?  I do, for more reasons than one!
