The Sweet Shoppe of Blue Ridge – Making the Mountains Proud Once Again!
The Sweet Shoppe of Blue Ridge has made all of us in the North Georgia Mountains proud once again! I was so excited to be watching when they were announced the 2012 winners of the Cupcake Wars on Food Network! Way to put our awesome small town on the map, Susan and Nikki.
For those of you who have yet to have the opportunity to visit this delighful establishment, you are missing out! Susan Caron and Nikki Gribble opened shop in downtown Blue Ridge on May 11, 2011. These ladies started their shop as they describe on “complete faith.” They both were friends and have always loved being in the kitchen. Each of them grew up baking with their mom and grandmother and it soon became a passion for both. They took this passion straight to beautiful Blue Ridge and set up shop! It has taken off like you wouldn’t believe. In October of 2011, just a few short months after they opened, they took their cupcakes to Los Angelas to film an episode of Cupcake Wars on Food Network and placed 2nd. This year, they were determined to come in first and they did!!! I am convinced that people like Susan and Nikki that have a passion and complete love for what they do, are successful the way these two are!
Recently, they have opened a second shop in McCaysville, Georgia, not far from Blue Ridge. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of what we will see from The Sweet Shoppe of Blue Ridge. Please come visit when you can for some gourmet cupcakes, hand dipped truffles, caramel pretzels and various other yummy treats that are made in house daily.
Congrats again to Susan and Nikki! The people of Blue Ridge are so proud as was evident at the high school last night as so many were there watching to pull them through. I love how the mountain community sticks together and supports one another!
