Michaelee’s Chocolate Caffe – A Top Hiawassee Dining Choice!

If you have not had the opportunity to visit this boutique style, full service restaurant that is located in the beautiful Hiawassee area, you need to!  Michaelee’s Chocolate Caffe is decorated in hardwood floors and huge windows which offer a very cheerful and quaint atmosphere.  Owner and Chef, Michael Collins, runs this mediterranean style dining with an italian flair type of restaurant.  They also specialize heavily in desserts and espresso based coffee drinks.  Did someone say desserts??  My favorite for sure!! I especially love chef Michael’s blueberry cheesecake and turtle cake!

One thing about this restaurant I have noticed is the very generous portions that are given and the wonderful presentation of the food.  Some of the excellent dishes include, Jumbo Florentine Ravioli, veal, and amazing ribeye steak.  There is such a variety of foods to enjoy here.  Again…not to mention the desserts.

Michael is from Connecticut but came to visit the North Georgia Mountains over 30 years ago and never left.  He feel in love with the area.  He and his wife Lisa, (whose family calls her Lee), thus the name Micahelee’s, run the restaurant together.  You will often see Lisa going from table to table to make sure each customer is satisfied.  They have a daughter and wanted to raise her in a small town and Hiawassee was truly a fabulous choice for them.
